Android quietly rolled out the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update to GSM Galaxy Nexus and GSM Nexus S smartphones Monday.
Owners of the GSM phones should be noticing an over-the-air update to their devices occur any time now. However, anyone without a Verizon or Sprint contract won't see those updates just yet.
This incremental update lets users expand notifications with the swipe of one figure now, instead of the two that was previously required (two-fingered notification opening is so passe).

The update doesn't actually add much, but rather fixes a some bugs that have crawled out.
Some users report it makes the performance a bit more "buttery," while others report they aren't noticing an extra smooth performance.
The release is just one in a growing line of updates rolling out to Android devices. Last week, the Nexus 7 got the same update with one noticeable addition: a new user-interface feature that allows the phone to go in landscape mode while on the home screen.
Though the GSM phones lack that feature for now, and users should appreciate the update squashing a few bugs for them.
